Overview

To maintain a Marketplace that customers can trust and one that’s legally compliant, all products listed for sale on Walmart.com must comply with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. Keep reading to learn which products referenced in this policy are prohibited from selling on Walmart Marketplace unless you obtain written approval to list and sell those items.

What is the policy?

  • All products listed for sale on Walmart.com must comply with any applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. All product labels and information on listings and images on the online product page must be in English (when appropriate, information may also be displayed in additional languages if the information also appears in English) and, where applicable, contain all information required under the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Uniform eCommerce Regulations, such information to be provided to Walmart during item setup.
  • In addition, item listings with conflicting information found on product images and the product listing page is prohibited. All packaging labels must comply with all applicable requirements, including those of any government agencies that regulate the product in question. Consult your legal counsel if you have any questions about the laws and regulations concerning your products.
  • The sale of stolen property violates the property rights of rightful owners and is illegal. Walmart strictly prohibits the sale of stolen goods on Walmart Marketplace.
  • Walmart enforces strict policies against the resale of certain products from other marketplaces on its platform. Sellers are required to have ownership of the items they list for sale or have the adequate licensing rights to sell those branded products. Additionally, sourcing products through post-sale transactions (Retail Arbitrage) on other platforms is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, certain smart home devices and streaming media players.
  • Walmart will remove any product listing that may be incompatible with its brand or in violation of law, this policy and any other Walmart Marketplace retailer policies. Corrective actions may be taken as circumstances dictate, including suspension and/or termination of your account.

While Walmart strives to keep this policy current and as complete as practicable, not all prohibited products may be listed below. Walmart reserves the right to remove any product listing in the Marketplace Prohibited Products Policy or other policies without notice so be sure to check this page often.

Notes

This policy and additional guidelines are subject to change without notice. You’re responsible for ensuring that your items comply with this policy and any future amended or updated versions.
