Overview

Once you’ve completed the account setup process in Seller Center, you can start to build your product listings on Walmart Marketplace in different ways. This guide gives a high-level overview of each method.

Notes

If you’d like to use Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) to pick, pack and ship items, make sure to also complete the WFS setup.

How does it work?

Bulk upload

You can add many items in Seller Center at once using any of our Bulk Upload setup methods.

Upload a Spreadsheet: Upload a listing report or custom spreadsheet to Seller Center from any external marketplace you use.
Full Setup Template: Download Walmart’s Excel template and input the required attribute information.
Set Up Items by Match: Download Walmart’s Excel template and fill out the required attribute information to match your items to existing items on Walmart.com.

Single item

You can also set up items individually in Seller Center.

Search the Walmart Catalog: Search Walmart’s catalog to add an item that already exists on Walmart.com.
Create a New Item in Seller Center: Add a new item that’s not currently offered on Walmart.com.

API integration

This method is recommended if you’re publishing a large catalog of items and have a technical team in place to support your operations. For more details, browse Integration Methods: API.

Walmart Solution Providers

A third-party Walmart Solution Provider can help you import your catalog. For more details, check out Choose a Solution Provider.

Convert from seller-fulfilled to Walmart-fulfilled

If you've already set up items in your catalog and would like to fulfill them with Walmart, you can switch them over to Walmart-fulfilled.

Convert a single existing item: Quickly convert a single item within Seller Center.
Convert multiple existing items: Choose items by GTIN or category to convert in bulk to Walmart-fulfilled.

Frequently asked questions

Do Walmart-fulfilled items have specific item setup requirements?

Yes. For all Walmart-fulfilled items, you're required to provide additional information, such as country of origin, dimensions, and trade item configurations. This allows us to store and fulfill items on your behalf. Walmart-fulfilled items that contain specific potentially hazardous components or chemicals will also require additional screening. Our compliance review helps us properly store, handle, transport, and/or dispose of potentially hazardous materials.

Do items within the Lawn Chemicals and Live Plants categories have item setup restrictions?

How do I update an item’s content?

You may be able to suggest changes to your item’s content after you’ve finished setting up your item. However, because there may be multiple sellers providing content for the same item, you may not always be able to define which content will be displayed on Walmart.com. Walmart will determine the best available content for items unless it is provided by a brand owner or authorized reseller. Items that cannot be updated will appear locked during the updating process.
