Troubleshooting
If you use Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) to fulfill items, you must declare hazardous materials during item setup. Items that contain potentially hazardous components or chemicals will need a compliance review of up to 3 business days before being published. Â
This process allows Walmart to comply with safety and regulatory requirements to properly store, handle, transport and dispose of potentially hazardous materials. Failure to comply with these requirements poses significant safety and regulatory risks.Â
What is the policy?
Hazardous material | Definition | Examples |
---|---|---|
Chemical | Any item of merchandise that contains a liquid, gel, paste or powder that is not intended for human consumption.
|
|
Aerosol | Any item of merchandise that contains a compressed gas or propellant (including bag-on-valve and other pressurized designs). |
|
Pesticide | Any item of merchandise which is advertised and/or labeled with direct or implied claims to kill, repel or prevent the growth of any living organism (e.g., antimicrobial, antibacterial, antifungal). Â
|
|
Devices, articles treated with pesticides and FIFRA 25(b) minimum risk pesticides are included in the definition of pesticide. For more detail, view WFS prohibited products policy: Pesticide products and devices. |
| |
Battery or battery-containing product  | Any item of merchandise that is a battery or any component of merchandise, including reusable packaging intended to stay in use with the item, containing a battery of any chemistry or type. |
