WFS seller onboarding and setup

Overview

To start fulfilling with Walmart, you’ll need to add contact details, a returns address and billing information. Look for the WFS page in the left navigation of Seller Center. If you haven’t already, also make sure you’ve finished your three-step account setup on the Home page.

Contact

Add a primary point of contact for WFS communications, like inventory updates or responses to Support cases. If you have multiple team members, you can also create additional contacts for a content manager, warehouse manager, and more.

Returns

Provide a US address so we can send Walmart-fulfilled inventory back to you after it’s processed by a Walmart facility. If you’d like Walmart-fulfilled items to be returned to the same facility as seller-fulfilled items, you can use the same address – just give it a new name and alias specific to WFS returns. This won’t affect the existing details for seller-fulfilled returns.

Billing

We need a US bank account to cover WFS fees. Don’t worry; we’ll only charge this billing method if there’s a remaining WFS balance after sales. There’s never a signup or subscription fee to use WFS. When you add a billing method, we’ll verify it using microdeposits. Wait two to three business days, then look for two deposits of $0.01–$0.99 from Paypal, PaypalMTCU, or PaypalBTCU. To finish verifying, go to the WFS page and enter the amounts in Billing. If you’d like to change this billing method or add a new one, you’ll need to go through the verification process again.

Set up items

At any point, you can start building your product catalog by selecting Set up items. If you’ve already done the three-step setup on the Home page, you’ll be able to publish items. If you haven’t, your items will be saved as drafts until you finish setting up. Whichever method you use, make sure to choose Walmart Fulfilled as your fulfillment type so WFS can pick, pack, and ship items for you. Note that Walmart-fulfilled items require extra information for fulfillment and compliance, such as country of origin, trade item hierarchy and hazardous material declarations. Even if you’ve already built a catalog, you can always switch the fulfillment type. All you need to do is convert a single item or convert in bulk to WFS. If your inventory runs out, customer orders will automatically switch to seller-fulfilled.

Next steps

Once you’ve finished Seller Center and WFS onboarding, you’re ready to send items to a Walmart fulfillment center. Make sure your item is set up as Walmart-fulfilled before shipping inventory to WFS. See WFS Inbound Orders: Send Inventory and Prepare & Pack Shipments for shipping details.
