Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS)
Walmart Seller app
Brand Portal
Category tab
You must fill out the Required for Walmart Fulfillment Services section. To see definitions for each field, select, double click or enable wrap text in the sixth row.
A state code will overwrite any ZIP codes because they apply to all ZIP codes within the state. For example, if you only want to restrict sales in specific areas of California (such as 90011, 90003, 90026, 90044), add these ZIP codes and do not add CA.
Hazmat items
Walmart-fulfilled items that contain specific potentially hazardous components or chemicals will require additional screening prior to being eligible for the program. Use the two color-coded hazmat sections in the spec to provide important information about your items and help us determine if your item is potentially a hazardous material.
A compliance review is specific to an item GTIN/UPC, not a SKU. If your item goes through this review, and you later change the GTIN/UPC, the item must go through this process again before it can be listed in your WFS assortment.
For more detail on what’s considered hazmat and the compliance process, see WFS hazardous materials overview.
Recommended attributes
Aside from the required information, you can fill in extra details to make customer search and browsing a richer experience. For example, you can add multiple images.
If you’re adding multiple kinds of one item (e.g., a pair of shoes that come in different colors or a shirt that comes in various sizes), we recommend setting up a variant group. For more information, see Manage variant groups.
Multi-select attributes
You can choose to add more information for certain attributes, like Key Features, Additional Image, Color, and Variant Attributes. We call these multi-select attributes, and you can identify them by a plus sign next to the name.
These attributes can have as many entries as needed. The first three are included in the downloaded spec. To add more, right-click the attribute title, or use the Excel ribbon to add a new column to the sheet.
Copy the information from the attribute next to it (highlight the cells in rows 4–6) and paste it into the corresponding new cells. If you’d like to keep track of the number of additions, you can choose to change the numbers in row 4.
The new column will automatically be added to the left. If you want to add columns to the end of a section, select the nearest column on the right.
Conditionally required attributes
Some attributes are conditionally required — if you fill out one attribute, the associated cell must be filled out as well. If you don’t fill these attributes out correctly, you may trigger errors during upload.
Conditionally required attributes are typically associated with units of measure, such as Assembled Product Length. Remember to keep the unit and measurement separate. Read the data definitions carefully to ensure you’re entering values in the right format.
Trade item configurations tab
You must enter the products in the same order in both the category tab and the trade items tab. If your SKUs aren't in the same order, your spec will be rejected.
Trade item hierarchy describes the relationship between shipping units. The product ID, orderable GTIN and Each GTIN must match.
The dimensions in this tab are also used to determine whether your item will fit in our fulfillment centers. For more details on trade items and examples, see the Trade item configuration guide.
Make sure your item dimensions are accurate. We measure items during receiving, and mismatched dimensions may affect your WFS fees.
