Overview

A product variant group is a group of individual items that only differ by a few attributes—e.g., a pair of shoes that come in different colors or a T-shirt that comes in different sizes. The items in a variant group are displayed together on one item page on Walmart.com. As a Marketplace seller, you can create and manage variant groups in Seller Center or via Walmart APIs.

This guide outlines these capabilities and directs you to detailed information that can help you with specific variant group needs.

How does it work?

Create a new variant group

You can create a new variant group in one of three ways: using your Catalog dashboard, uploading a template in Seller Center or via APIs. Check out Create a variant group: Items dashboard and Create a variant group: Full setup template for details.

Manage an existing variant group

Once you’ve created a variant group, you can add or remove items from the group, combine it with another group, separate it into two different groups or add new variant attributes to the group. You can edit and manage variant groups by using your catalog dashboard or uploading a template in Seller Center. View Manage a Variant Group to learn more.

Troubleshoot variant group issues

When making changes to a variant group, you may need to address an error before the changes can be saved. Consult the troubleshooting guide in Troubleshoot product variant errors to learn what different errors mean and how to solve them.
