Overview

If your item has been unpublished from Walmart.com for not meeting Marketplace standards, you can use the Unpublished Items dashboard in Seller Center or generate an Item Report to check which items have been impacted. This guide will help you troubleshoot every unpublished reason you may encounter so you can make an update and get your listing republished.

Listing issues

All Listing Issues can be resolved from the Unpublished Items dashboard.

Error Message: Primary image missing

What should I do?

Update the item with a new Primary Image. Since there may be multiple sellers providing content for the same item, you may not always be able to define which content will be displayed on Walmart.com. Walmart will determine the best available content for items unless it’s provided by a brand owner or authorized reseller. Items that can't be updated will appear locked during the updating process.

If you’re having trouble, contact support in Seller Center.

Error Message: Price missing

What should I do?

Update your List Price.

Trust & safety

All Trust & Safety issues can be appealed from the Unpublished Items dashboard.

Review the Prohibited Products Policy. If you believe your item was unpublished incorrectly, you can appeal the decision.

If you believe your item was unpublished incorrectly, you can appeal the decision. If you’re a brand owner, consider registering your brand on Walmart Marketplace.

What should I do?

Update the item’s product ID and resubmit the updated item data in Seller Center or via Walmart APIs. If you’re having trouble finding the correct product ID, contact the manufacturer or visit the manufacturer’s site. If you believe your item was unpublished incorrectly, you can appeal the decision.

Pricing rules

Error Message: Egregious shipping cost

What should I do?

Update the shipping fee listed in your Shipping Template to be more competitive with market conditions. Your offer is measured by shipping price relative to item price. When the shipping fee for an unpublished offer falls back within an acceptable range, Walmart will automatically republish the offer, which typically takes up to 48 hours.

For more information, review the Pricing rules.

Error Message: Reasonable price not satisfied

What should I do?

If any offers are priced high, they are flagged by the Pricing Rule, and Walmart automatically unpublishes the offer in question with the reason code listed as Reasonable Price Not Satisfied. If prices change on the monitored competing websites and the item now falls within the acceptable range, Walmart will automatically republish the offer, typically within 48 hours. You can also proactively update your price to be more competitive. If your offer remains unpublished after you've submitted a more competitive price, continue to lower the price until your item no longer violates the Pricing Rule.

For any unpublished item, you can also find a Reference price on the Unpublished Items dashboard. You can use this reference price to help you update the new price and get your item republished. Walmart calculates a competitive reference price for each item using price points from competitor websites, historical selling price, Buy Box winner price, average offer price and Walmart e-commerce and store price.

Error Message: Pricing error

What should I do?  In certain cases, Walmart may automatically unpublish offers that have been priced erroneously too low, to protect the seller from unintended losses and customer from experiencing cancellations. The reason code listed for such items is Pricing Error. In such a case, use the Reference price or other provided price signals as a reasonable benchmark or reference to increase price until it no longer violates the Pricing Rule. When the price is updated to be within an acceptable range, Walmart will automatically republish the offer, which typically takes up to 48 hours.

For more information, review the Pricing Rules
