Walmart’s Every Day Low Price (EDLP) strategy means all consumers can get a low price on their basket of goods, every day, without having to rely on coupons, promotions or special discounts. In this guide, we’ll go over a few ways to update and maintain your prices so you can remain competitive.
How does it work?
Our Pricing Rules help enforce this strategy, which helps create consumer trust and reduce the need to comparison shop. As a Marketplace seller, you're responsible for setting and maintaining your prices. This chart explains the methods for updating prices and respective use cases.
Method | Use Case |
---|---|
Update Price Individually | If you need to quickly update a few items, you can update the price right from your Catalog. For more information, check out Update price individually in Seller Center. |
Update Price in Bulk
| To update several items at once, use one of the bulk update methods. For more information, check out Update price in bulk in Seller Center. |
API
| If you are maintaining a large catalog of items and have a technical team to support your operations, consider integrating via API. For more information, visit Integration methods: API. |
Solution Provider
| Walmart Marketplace works with several third-party Solution Providers that can help you outsource price updates. For more information, visit Choose a solution provider. |
Repricer | You can automate your pricing using the Repricer. The Repricer monitors prices on Walmart.com as well as external marketplaces so you don’t have to manually check or update your offers every time market conditions change. For more information, check out Repricer: Overview. |
Walmart will automatically unpublish items that are egregiously priced when compared to prices for the same items found elsewhere on Walmart Marketplace, on a competing website or on an external marketplace. This automation helps protect consumers by unpublishing items that are priced at levels that could potentially be viewed as unfair or abusive, such as price gouging. This calculation includes shipping fees. For more information, visit Pricing Rules.
