Q: What are the mandatory attributes to be filled in the item setup category upload file to add an item?
A: The following attributes are required:

SKU

  • The string of letters and/or numbers a partner uses to identify the item, also known as the Vendor Stock Number. Walmart includes this value in all communications regarding item information such as orders.

A used college textbook would use the code "2039699".

Product Name

  • Title of the product to be displayed on the Item Page. The standard form is: Brand + Defining Qualities + Item Name + Pack Count, if applicable.

Product Type ID

  • UPC: GTIN-12, the 12-digit number including check-digit. If less than 12-digits, such as UPC-E which is 8-digits, add leading zeros up to 12-digits.;
  • GTIN: GTIN-14, the 14-digit number including check-digit. If less than 14-digits add leading zeros up to 14-digits.
  • ISBN: International Standard Book Number, the 10 or 13-digit number including check-digit.;
  • EAN: GTIN-13, the 13-digit number including check-digit. If less than 13-digits add leading zeros up to 13-digits.

  • Alphanumeric ID that uniquely identifies the product. Used in conjunction with "Product ID Type". NOTE: For GTIN-14 or UPC, include the check digit.

Product Tax Code

Brand

  • Name, term, design or other feature that distinguishes one seller's product from those of others. This can be the name of the company associated with the product, but not always. If item does not have a brand, use "Unbranded".

Main Image URL

  • Main image of the item. Image URL must end in the file name. Image URL must be static and have no redirections.
  • Preferred file type: JPEG Accepted file types: JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP.
  • Recommended image resolution: 3000 x 3000 pixels at 300 ppi.
  • Minimum image size requirements: Zoom capability: 2000 x 2000 pixels at 300 ppi. Non-zoom minimum: 500 x 500 pixels at 72 ppi.
  • Maximum file size: 2 MB.

  • Input the weight of the individual selling unit.

Important: There are few conditionally required attributes. These attributes depend on another attribute. For example, if you provide an item's height, you must also provide its units.

  • What do I do if my feeds are getting a TIMEOUT error?

     
  • If any of your Price / Inventory feeds are getting a timeout error, it may because the feed processing step is being delayed. Usually, it may take a little longer to update in backend than the stipulated time of 1 - 2 hours. However, if you find the feed updates are still not reflecting in Seller Center within 4 – 6 hours of feed submission, please raise a case with Support Team. Following the confirmation from the Support Team, resubmit the feed if required. 
  • What if my item is UNPUBLISHED due to "TNS Reasons"?

     
  • Your product has been removed due to Trust & Safety reasons. If you believe this is an error, please reach out and work with your respective Key Account Manager for clarification. You can download your catalog from Seller Center under the "Manage Items" menu under "Download Catalog".
  • What if my item is UNPUBLISHED due to "Legal / Compliance Reasons"?

     
  • Following Category Manager review, this product has been removed due to misleading content on one of the following attributes - Product Description, Feature List, Long Description or Image. Work with your respective Key Account Manager to resolve the issue to get the item back on site.

     
  • What if my item is UNPUBLISHED due to "HS Classification Reasons"?

     
  • If you are a Cross Border Trade (CBT) enabled seller, this is applicable and the offer will be automatically published after 5 business days.
  • If you are not a CBT seller and your item is unpublished, reach out to the support team by initiating a Partner Support Case with the list of items affected.
  • What if my item is a private brand without a UPC / GTIN?
  • Approval is required from the business for product identifier exemption.
