The instructional video and the article below will help you learn how to update your inventory in Seller Center.
You can update your inventory in Seller Center by using:
- The UI for individual SKUs.
- The Inventory Spec for a large quantity of SKUs.
Option 1: Update through the UI
The Manage Items page includes a list of all of the SKUs you offer on Walmart.ca. To update the inventory for individual SKUs:
- From the Manage Items page, select the rows in the grid for the SKUs you want to update.
- From the Action Bar, click the Update Inventory button. The Update Inventory dialog box will display.

3. In the Quantity field, enter the new quantity that you have in stock for the item.
4.In the Lag Time field, enter the time required to process the item (in days). Fulfillment Lag Time determines the number of days it takes the Seller to prepare an order for shipment. Whole numbers like 0, 1 and 2 are acceptable values for this field. For additional information regarding Fulfillment Lag Time and how it affects Expected Ship Date, read Marketplace Shipping Standards.
5. Click the Update Inventory button. Your inventory will update in the grid and on Walmart.ca within seconds.
Option 2: Update using the Inventory Spec
To update your inventory using the Inventory Spec, you need to:
- Log in to Seller Center.
- From the left navigation bar, select Bulk Inventory Updates. The Bulk Inventory Update page will display.

3. Under the Download Spec section, click on the Inventory Spec download button. The Inventory Spec is a blank Excel template that includes 3 fields for you to fill out:
- SKU: The SKUs you are updating.
New Quantity: The new quantity that you have in stock for the SKU.
Lag Time: The time required to process the item (in days). Fulfillment Lag Time determines the number of days it takes the Seller to prepare an order for shipment. Whole numbers like 0, 1 and 2 are acceptable values for this field. For additional information regarding Fulfillment Lag Time and how it affects Expected Ship Date, see Marketplace Shipping Standards.
4. Open the file in Excel.
5. Fill in the values for all of the SKUs that you are updating.
6. Save the file
7. In Seller Center, on the Bulk Inventory Updates page, upload the Spec to the page by either:
- Dragging the file to the Upload your completed Spec area, or
- From the Upload your completed Spec area, click on the Upload Spec button, and select your file.
8. From the Bulk Inventory Updates page, click the Submit button. The file will be submitted.
If you receive the error Data Limit Exceeded, a common cause is having a SKU that's over the character limit. SKUs must be 50 characters or less. If your SKU is too long, you can replace it with a shorter SKU using the directions in the article How to Update an Item's SKU. Then you can update your inventory using the new SKU.
How to track the status of a submitted file
Once you submit the file, you can track that file and the status of it on the Feed Status page in Seller Center.
Important Inventory Reminders
- Please do not send inventory for the SKUs which are not set up. This action will result in a "SKU not found" error.
- New items that are set up will reflect in our systems after 4 hours. If you send inventory for these new items before the 4-hour period, you’ll receive a “SKU not found” error.
- You will not be able to update inventory with a lead time of more than 1 day using the Seller Center single update feature. If your lead time is beyond 1 day, please use the bulk inventory updates process to update inventory and lead time.
- Please reference the Seller SKU name instead of the Walmart SKU name when you update inventory.
