Overview

Reviews left on your Walmart Marketplace listings are regulated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and must comply with applicable laws and Marketplace guidelines. In this guide, you’ll learn how ratings and reviews are generated and how you can manage them.

How does it work?

If a customer has opted to receive emails from Walmart, they’ll receive an email seven days after delivery or pickup of a Marketplace item with a request to leave a review for the product and for the Marketplace seller. If the customer doesn’t open this email, Walmart sends a second email 28 days later. Customers who haven’t opted in to receive these emails won’t be asked to leave a review but still have the option to leave one in their purchase history.

The customer’s feedback is then collected and displayed on the Ratings and Reviews  page in Seller Center where you can contact the customer, initiate a refund or track the order. You can use the Item reviews or Seller reviews tabs to filter through specific topics or reviews. To read insights summarized at the item level, select the three horizontal dots in the Actions column and select View all item reviews.

The Ratings and Reviews page only displays feedback that was left by customers who purchased your offer on Walmart.com. Syndicated reviews and item reviews for other sellers’ offers are not displayed.

Notes

The Ratings and Reviews page uses AI-generated insights to summarize the topics of positive and negative reviews. The accuracy, quality and appropriateness may vary for AI-generated insights and should be used for informational purposes only.

Additional guidelines
