The Walmart Preferred Carrier (WPC) Program is our network of trusted carrier partners with discounted rates for inbound shipping. We offer parcel, less than truckload (LTL) and full truckload (FTL) when you ship to a Walmart facility. When you use a preferred carrier, look forward to:
- Reduced inbound shipping costs. Enjoy Walmart-negotiated rates for high-volume shipments and boost your bottom line.
- Easy carrier management. There’s no need for you to bid on carriers, coordinate pickup or schedule delivery.
- Convenient billing. You’ll get estimated shipping prices when you’re preparing the shipment, and we’ll deduct the costs from your WFS sales.
To add a preferred carrier to your next shipment, view Walmart Preferred Carrier: Set up shipments.
How does it work?

When you send inventory, choose the Walmart preferred carrier option and preview the estimated shipping price. Based on the origin, destination and shipment, we’ll assign a carrier at the lowest cost available. For a step-by-step, go to Walmart Preferred Carrier: Set up shipments.
For parcel, you can drop off the shipment at your local FedEx office or arrange pickup. Once the shipment is scanned, FedEx will take care of the rest.
For LTL and FTL, you’ll request a pickup date, and we’ll then confirm over email. The carrier will pick up the shipment from your address, schedule a delivery appointment and deliver the shipment to the Walmart facility. You can track progress from the Shipments page in Seller Center.
Pricing
We estimate the shipping price based on the item weight, dimensions and addresses. Once you’ve accepted the quote, you’ll have a limited window to void the charges and edit the shipment: 24 hours for parcel and 1 hour for LTL or FTL. This helps ensure we're locking in the best carrier rate at the time you set up your shipment.
Shipment requirements
Preferred carriers only apply to shipments that are sent from within the 48 contiguous United States. In addition, check that your shipment meets these requirements.

Pallets must also follow these requirements:
- You must use 48" x 40", 4-way-access, solid wood pallets.
- If a single unit cannot fit on a 48" x 40" pallet without overhanging the edges, use our FTL option.
- For non-stackable pallets, the pallet height must be below 72". For stackable pallets, the height must be below 50".
Restricted items
Dangerous goods and hazmat items are prohibited on preferred carrier shipments. If you’re shipping these items, you can send shipments using your own carrier. View WFS hazardous materials overview to check what items are considered hazardous and WFS prohibited products policy for what may be prohibited in the WFS program.
