You can help create a great shopping experience on Walmart.com by keeping your item content up to date, such as an item’s product name, site description and images. In this guide, we’ll cover how Walmart’s content process works and the methods you can use to update your content.  Â
How does it work?
Before you get started, it’s important to understand how Walmart’s content process works. Walmart defines content as any information that provides product details about an item, such as product name, site description, key features and images. Content also includes item attributes, which are the values that help customers understand an item’s features and characteristics.
To ensure a high-quality shopping experience, Walmart selects the best content for each item attribute, giving priority to content provided directly by brand owners and their authorized resellers. This means that if you don’t have brand owner or authorized reseller privileges, you won’t be able to update some content fields, including blank fields.
If you need more access to an item’s content, you can register as a brand owner or become an authorized reseller. Â
Because brand owners and authorized resellers have priority, there are times when you won’t be able to decide what content is published on Walmart.com.
Additional guidelines
To help drive sales and increase the chances of Walmart publishing your content, review Walmart’s content standards and requirements for each of the product categories and product types you’re selling. Then, make sure that the information you provide for each of your item attributes meets those standards and requirements. You can also use Walmart’s AI-powered content suggestions for your product title, site description and key features.Â
