Walmart Seller app
Walmart operates a unified catalog system, allowing multiple sellers to list the same product. Multiple sellers may submit content updates for an item, and you may not always control which content appears on Walmart.com, such as an item’s product name, site description and images. In this guide, you’ll learn why your content may not be displayed on Walmart.com and how to resolve the issue.Â
Common scenarios
1. You provided product details about an item, such as product name, site description, key features or images but your content suggestions don't appear on Walmart.com.
Walmart gives priority to content provided directly by brand owners and authorized resellers. To ensure a high-quality shopping experience, Walmart selects the best content for each item attribute, giving priority to content provided directly by brand owners and their authorized resellers. Â Â
What should I do?Â
Request brand ownership (if applicable) or authorized reseller status. Refer to scenario number three in this guide for more information. Â
2. You're unable to make content updates to certain product details.
If you don’t have brand owner or authorized reseller privileges, you won’t be able to update some content fields, including blank fields.  Â
Â
What should I do?
Request brand ownership (if applicable) or authorized reseller status. Refer to scenario number three in this guide for more information.Â
3. You're not registered as a brand owner or an authorized reseller.
What should I do?Â
- Brand owner: If you hold an active United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) trademark, register your brands on the Walmart Brand Portal. Doing so will grant content ownership for your brand’s products, along with access to privileges exclusively available to brand owners.
If you have an international trademark, select the Help button in the Seller Center menu bar to contact Support and describe your issue. Under Confirm your issue category, select Content Update Errors and then choose the Confirm button. Then, select Get in touch with us and choose the Email us option.Â
For the Required fields, choose Seller Center and select Request Content Ownership, then Brand Owner from the dropdown fields. Complete the required information fields and attach your trademark documentation. - Authorized reseller: If you’re not a brand owner but you’ve worked with the brand previously, you can register to be an authorized reseller. You have two options to register: Ask the brand owner to add your company’s seller ID as an authorized reseller on the Walmart Brand Portal under the Brand Portfolio section.
Or select the Help button in the Seller Center menu bar to contact Support and describe your issue. Under Confirm your issue category, select Content Update Errors and then choose the Confirm button. Finally, select Get in touch with us and choose the Email us option. For the Required fields, choose Seller Center and select Request Content Ownership, then Authorized Reseller from the dropdown fields.
Attach your Letter of Authorization or other documentation from the brand owner, confirming that you are authorized to represent them on Walmart Marketplace and make content changes for items under their brand.Â
Â
4. Your content doesn't meet Walmart's standards.
Walmart defines content as any information that provides product details about an item, such as product name, site description, key features and images. Content also includes item attributes, which are the values that help customers understand an item’s features and characteristics.Â
Â
What should I do?
Review Walmart’s content standards and requirements for each of the product categories and product types you’re selling. Then, make sure that the information you provide for each item attribute meets those standards and requirements. If your item belongs to a category that doesn’t have dedicated content standards, ensure that you follow overall guidelines for titles, descriptions and images.
Ensure that your content is in line with our Prohibited Products Policy and Product details policy. If your item is flagged with issues, you can resolve them in Seller Center using the Listing Quality dashboard.
To update items in Seller Center, follow the steps in this guide.Â
If the published content is incorrect and you aren’t able to edit it, select the Help button in the Seller Center menu bar to contact Support.Â
