Add an Item
To begin setting up an item in Seller Center:
- Go to the Catalog option in the left navigation pane in Seller Center.
- Click on Add Items.
- Next, click on the Create a new item link to navigate to the Item Create tool.
Item Content
- In the Item Create tool, select an ID type from the dropdown under Item Identifier and enter the number in the text box provided.
- Our system will check to see if the item has been set up by another marketplace seller. If another item uses the same Product ID, a match result will occur.
- If we have correctly matched this Item, click the Add Item button. Selecting Add Item will pull up existing item details for the item in context and request you to enter only offer details. For more information, please refer to Quick Item Setup by Match.
If you already have this item in your catalogue, the existing SKU will populate, and you can edit the item.
3. If you did not find a match or you clicked the Cancel button, you must fill in the required fields (i.e., Item Name and Category) at the top. Additional required fields will appear after you select a category. If you aren't sure which category to select, refer to the Walmart.ca Content Guides.
4. Next, fill in the required attributes for this item. We recommend filling out the recommended and optional content attributes as well, to improve your item's discoverability.
Item Attributes
Your item listings have the power to convert casual browsers into buyers. An excellent item listing is one of the most critical factors in driving sales.
5. Fill in the item attributes. You can click the circle i icon of each section's header to view the definition of all the attributes in the section in the right panel.
Use the + Add to the left of certain fields to add additional details as needed (e.g., attributes like Key Features, Nutrients, and Fabric Materials).
The + Add option adds additional values (e.g., multiple images and multiple nutritional values), which will appear on the item listing in the order they are entered.

6. Once you've filled out the Item Content tab completely, select the Imagery & Media tab.
7. If you have images saved to your computer that you want to upload, click on Select Image from the Add Image drop-down.
These uploaded images will be hosted on Walmart's servers. If you have published the images elsewhere, select Import Images by URL. Ensure that your images adhere to the Item Image Guidelines.
8. Make sure that the image you want to appear first on the Item Page and in search pages is set as the Primary Image. If it isn't, select Set as primary image under the Actions column. If there are images you do not wish to include, select Mark as deleted to remove them.
If you have more than three images, you can rank the order they appear under the Rank column. The Primary Image is not ranked.
Item Offer
9. Next, select the Offer tab. Fill in the required attributes (e.g., Selling Price and Shipping Weight) and any additional information you want to provide.
Complete Setup
10. When you finish your new item setup, select the Submit Item button at the bottom of the page.
You can only submit the item once all required fields are complete. Green checkmarks will appear next to each tab, and the Submit button will activate.
