Overview

Each prohibited product category has unique requirements that should be followed, or Walmart will automatically unpublish your items. To read the full policy, please read the Walmart Fulfillment Services Prohibited Products Policy and the Prohibited Products Policy for Marketplace Sellers.

What is the policy?

Any live plants that require special handling, specialty packing/packaging, and/or are time and temperature sensitive are ineligible for WFS. In addition, live plants that do not comply with local, state, or federal regulation, or that require transit and interstate commerce regulatory permits, licenses, and documentation are also ineligible or prohibited. Products subject to our WFS Live Plants policy may also be subject to our Prohibited Products Policy for Marketplace Sellers, including Restricted/Illegal Products and Home Goods.

Policy basics

Prohibited

Plants that are considered an invasive species including but not limited to those indicated in the Federal Noxious Weed list

Plants that are protected and/or endangered: Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and the Endangered Species Act (ESA)
Plants and plant products that are illegal and/or do not comply with US regulations (see Related guides)
Ineligible for WFS:
- Live plants (bare root, in soil/grow medium, potted, etc.)
- Live nursery plants and cuttings

Allowed with restrictions

Plant products that are eligible for WFS must be in retail-ready shippable packaging adhering to all applicable regulations, including US labeling laws
The below plant products may be allowed if requisite restrictions/disclosures are adhered to:

Air plants that are already packed in protective retail packaging
Unbloomed bulbs that are already packed in protective retail packaging
Retail packaged seeds for planting and gardening
Plant/mushroom grow kits and grow medium in retail packaging

Allowed

Fake decorative plants
Dried moss, lichen, and other dried plants for hobbies and arts and crafts that are otherwise not restricted
