If eligible, you may file a dispute if you believe you were charged for an incorrectly categorized Referral Fee (also known as a Commission Fee). Referral Fee disputes must be filed within 90 days of the order settlement date. Disputes filed outside this timeframe will be denied, and that denial will be final.
Am I eligible?
If it is determined that Walmart is at fault for charging the incorrect Referral Fee, Walmart will approve your dispute request. Walmart will not approve dispute requests resulting from incorrect categorization on your part, during the item setup process. For more generalized guidelines that you must follow when filing a dispute, visit Marketplace Disputes Standards.
File a dispute
Step 1 – Get started
Navigate to Seller Support to create a case through following path: Payments > Payment Amount Incorrect > Commission Dispute. At the bottom of the page, under the Did this resolve your issue? heading, choose No.
Step 2 – Provide supporting documentation
In your case, you must include the following information:
The purchase order number
The purchase order line number
The item name
The existing and proposed Contract Category
The Referral Fee percentage
The order settlement date
The file name of the Payment Details report containing the disputed orders
An Excel document with the payment report information. Do not attach the entire payment report for the settlement date. Remove all data except the information relevant to your dispute and save it as a new file.
Step 3 – Submit case
Once you’ve provided the required information, submit your case. Disputes are typically resolved within 24-48 hours of receipt. However, if additional information or approval is needed, it could take longer.
