Overview

You’re required to provide valid tracking information to Walmart as soon as you’ve shipped a Marketplace order and marked the order as Shipped in Seller Center or with Walmart APIs. In this guide, you’ll learn more information about our tracking policy.

What is the policy?

Prior to shipping the item, you’ll need to give your shipping carrier authorization to provide shipment tracking data to Walmart. You must provide valid tracking information to Walmart for at least 99% of your shipments. Per our Seller Performance Standards, if you provide invalid tracking or fail to meet the 99% standard, it may result in selling restrictions, suspension or termination.

Additional guidelines

Tracking numbers must meet the following requirements:

  • Correct formatting.
  • No special characters (e.g., ~ ` ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ - + = { [ } ] | \ : ; " ' < , > . ? /).

  • Has at least one valid carrier scan on record.
  • It can't be the same as the purchase order number or sales order number.
