Overview

The Resold program allows you to offer high-quality, refurbished items on Walmart.com. In this guide, you’ll learn more about product eligibility and participation requirements for this program.

Notes:

Participation in the Resold program is by invitation only, and not available to all Marketplace sellers. If you’d like to sell Pre-Owned items through the Resold program, visit the Exclusives programs page in Seller Center to apply.

How does it work?

To participate in this program, you must be in good standing and consistently meet our Seller Performance Standards. If approved to sell resold items, you’re required to comply with the Comprehensive Walmart Marketplace Retailer Agreement, retailer policies, Seller Performance Standards and Walmart’s Returns policy.

The Resold program prohibits selling counterfeit items. Violations of this policy can lead to suspension or termination of your account.

Additional guidelines

All items in any Resold condition must be professionally inspected, tested, cleaned and, if necessary, refurbished to their original condition specified by the manufacturer or an authorized seller or supplier. Eligible products should be in excellent technical condition and include a battery, wall plug or an electronic component.

Resold items are assigned a condition type during item setup. Each condition type has specific requirements for eligible product categories that you must adhere to.

Product type	Product quality requirements
All products	Restore to its original factory settings and fully unlock for use (if applicable). Upgrade to the latest firmware supported by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) (if applicable). Include all accessories that come with a newly purchased item. Comply with the Walmart Marketplace requirements for packaging and shipping items. Include original instruction manuals with the product when legally necessary. In other instances, you should provide instruction manuals or links to the manufacturer's online instructions. Remove end user data in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Standard on Media Sanitation or other applicable local regulations and standards. Perform a complete forensic destruction of all Personally Identifiable information (PII) and all other data that originated with or related to an end user contained on or any hardware, software or media component of each product before sale. Examples of end user data include, but are not limited to, name, date of birth, fingerprints or other biometric data, Social Security Number, street address, email address, cloud storage account and credit card information.
Accessories	Can be generic but must be compatible. Consumable accessories (e.g., air and water filters, brushes, strings) must be in new condition.
Batteries	Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) shipments containing lithium batteries must be registered with WERCSmart. Include battery life test information if battery life isn't visible in the device settings. Include the original battery for restored premium products.
Remote controls	Pair with the receiver or include an instruction manual for pairing and troubleshooting.
Screens and displays	Screens must have no scratches. Displays must be free of damage and fully functional like the original item with no dimness.
Wall plugs	Must be compatible with the region where the product is sold.

Notes:

During the item setup process, you can select from a range of eligible product categories. If the category isn’t available during setup, it means the product isn’t eligible.

Are warranties required for Resold program items?

Restored: Premium is the only condition that requires a warranty. Warranties aren’t required for Pre-Owned conditions unless otherwise required by law. However, you must accurately disclose to customers the warranty available (if any), or if the product is sold without a warranty. If Walmart determines it necessary to refund customers due to failure to honor a warranty, you’ll bear responsibility and associated costs when offering a warranty on resold products.
