Prohibited Products Policy: Ride-Ons and Micromobility Devices

Overview

Products subject to our policy on Ride-Ons and Micromobility Devices must also adhere to other Prohibited Products Policies including our policy on Children’s products or Walmart will automatically unpublish your item.  

Toy Ride-Ons:

What is the policy?

Walmart prohibits the sale of toy ride-ons that are considered non-compliant with any applicable regulations or otherwise don’t meet Walmart standards. Toy Ride-Ons listed on Walmart Marketplace must have a valid Children’s Product Certificate (CPC). For more information on CPCs, visit the Children’s Products Policy.

For purposes of this policy, Toy Ride-Ons are defined as electric-powered toys designed for children, with batteries of 24 volts or less and a maximum speed of up to 12 miles per hour (MPH).

  • Toy Ride-Ons that are gas powered 

  • Toy Ride-Ons without a valid CPC

    • Maximum speed in MPH  
  • Parts and accessories for Toy Ride-Ons 


All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), Utility-Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) & Go-Karts: 

What is the policy?

Walmart prohibits the sale of certain ATVs, UTVs and Go-Karts on its Marketplace. Visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website for additional information on ATVs.

For purposes of this policy, ATVs and UTVs are defined as four-wheeled vehicles designed for off-road use only. Go-Karts are defined as four-wheeled vehicles with a non-straddled seat, steering wheel and no rear cargo capacity. These products can be electric or gas-powered.

    • Age range
    • Battery power or engine size
    • Maximum speed in MPH 
  • ATV, UTV and Go-Kart parts and accessories 


Dirt Bikes & Minibikes:

What is the policy?

Walmart prohibits the sale of dirt bikes and minibikes marketed for on-road use. For purposes of this policy dirt bikes are two-wheeled vehicles designed for off-road use only and exceed 30 MPH. Minibikes are defined as two-wheeled vehicles designed for off-road use only and don’t exceed 30 MPH. These products can be electric or gas-powered.

e-Bikes:

What is the policy?

Walmart prohibits the sale of certain e-Bikes on its Marketplace. For purposes of this policy, e-Bikes are defined as electric bicycles with operable pedals.

  • e-Bikes that don’t meet the minimum labeling requirements
  • Class II (or above) e-Bikes that are marketed for on-road use
  • e-Bikes that don’t have operable pedals 

  • e-Bikes that meet the minimum labeling requirements including:
    • Wattage
    • Maximum speed in MPH
  • Class I e-Bikes marketed for on-road use
  • Class II (or above) e-Bikes marketed for off-road use
  • e-Bike tuners 
  • Standard bicycles
  • Parts and accessories for bicycles and e-bikes 


Golf Carts:

What is the policy?

Walmart prohibits the sale of certain golf carts on its Marketplace. For purposes of this policy, golf carts are defined as four-wheeled vehicles designed for golf course use only and don’t exceed 20 MPH.

  • Golf carts that are marketed to be used as an ATV or UTV

    • Age range
    • Wattage or engine size
    • Maximum speed in MPH 
  • Golf cart parts and accessories 


Self-Balancing Scooters & Micromobility Devices:

What is the policy?

Walmart prohibits the sale of self-balancing scooters (hoverboards) and micromobility devices without valid battery testing certifications. Visit the UL Solutions website for additional information on battery testing and certifications.

    • e-Scooters: UL 2272
    • e-Unicycles: UL 2272
    • Standalone batteries: UL 2271 
  • Self-balancing scooters (hoverboards) with valid battery testing certifications
