Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS)
Each prohibited product category has unique requirements that should be followed, or Walmart will automatically unpublish your items. To read the full policy, please read the Walmart Fulfillment Services Prohibited Products Policy and the Prohibited Products Policy for Marketplace Sellers.
The contents of this document are subject to change without notice, so please check this page often. Sellers are responsible for ensuring that their items comply with this policy and any future amended or updated versions.
What is the policy?
Pesticide is defined by Walmart to include any item of merchandise which is advertised and/or labeled with direct or implied claims to kill, repel or prevent the growth of any living organism (e.g., antimicrobial, antibacterial, antifungal).
Pesticides and articles treated with pesticides are regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and must comply with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), including all registration and labeling requirements. EPA registered pesticides, 25(b) minimum risk pesticides, pesticide devices and treated articles with pesticide claims are currently ineligible for WFS.
Pesticides: A pesticide is a substance or mixture of substances intended to prevent, destroy, repel, mitigate, or attract any pest.
Pesticide devices: A pesticide device is any instrument or contrivance intended for trapping, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest.
Treated articles with pesticide claims: A treated article is an item treated with an antimicrobial pesticide to protect the item itself that makes pesticide claims.
Pests include, but are not limited to:
Microbes (bacteria, viruses, etc.)
Rodents (rats, mice squirrels, etc.)
Mold / Mildew
Insects
Fungus
Weeds
Additional information on pesticides and pesticide devices can be found in our What Is a Pesticide guide. In addition to the WFS guidelines above, all sellers must adhere to the Marketplace Hazardous Items policy.
