Prohibited Products Policy: Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia

Drugs 

What is the Policy? 

Drugs and other products that require a prescription are prohibited from sale on Walmart Marketplace Canada. Regulated products restricted by a government agency and any products that require professional guidance and/or are generally unsafe for the average consumer are also prohibited.

  • Any drugs that require a prescription or a medical professional's guidance, supervision, or direction for their use  
  • Any items that are not properly licensed to be sold in Canada (e.g., no Drug Identification Number (DIN).)  

  • Adulterated, misbranded, or tampered drugs  

  • Drugs containing label alterations to the actual product's performance, safety specifications, or indications of use  

  • Illegal drugs and narcotics  

  • Unsafe drugs  

  • Drugs not packaged, labeled, or intended for retail sale in Canada  

  • Drugs not in original retail packaging, opened, and/or used  

  • Expired products  

  • Drugs containing prohibited/restricted substances and/or ingredients including animal and plant matter (e.g., deer antler velvet, ingredients derived from sharks, whales, dolphins, kangaroos or porpoises)  

  • Drugs containing hemp, CBD, THC and any other cannabinoids.  

  • Products that simulate the effects of any illegal drugs  

  • Products that intend to be used for subverting regulatory enforcement or promote illegal activity (e.g., products that help circumvent detection or cheat on drug tests)  

  • Drugs that are subject to regulatory action or criminal enforcement  

  • Drugs that require a quantity or age restriction/ verification, or require consumer purchases to be registered are prohibited  

  • Products that have not obtained the required regulatory approvals 

  • Products that require specialty licensing, certification, or verification at point of sale  

  • Claims of “Health Canada Approved” or “Health Canada Cleared” must be used appropriately and do not contain any other misleading or false claims, statements, and/or usage of logos and imagery.
  • Drugs that are authorized by Health Canada for over the counter (OTC) sales that are not otherwise restricted and are described and labeled appropriately.

Drug Paraphernalia 

What is the Policy? 

Drug Paraphernalia is prohibited from sale on Walmart Marketplace Canada. For purposes of this policy, the term “Drug Paraphernalia” means any equipment, product, or material which is primarily intended or designed for use in manufacturing, concealing, producing, injecting, ingesting, inhaling, or otherwise introducing into the human body a controlled substance.

  • Cannabis fertilizer and nutrients
