Overview

Walmart Canada strives to maintain a Marketplace that customers can trust and one that is legally compliant. This guide and its embedded links identify certain products and categories that cannot be listed on Walmart Marketplace Canada. All products listed for sale on Walmart Marketplace Canada must comply with any applicable local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations.

What are the Guidelines?

  • Walmart Canada will remove any product listing that may be in violation of law, its policies, or that is incompatible with its brand. In addition, corrective actions may be taken as circumstances dictate, including de-listing of the seller’s product, suspension and/or termination of a seller's account. Some products referenced in this policy are prohibited unless a seller obtains written approval to list and sell those items on Walmart Marketplace Canada.

  • This Marketplace Prohibited Products Policy is subject to change without notice, so please check this page often. For instructions on how to appeal violations, see Contacting Partner Support

  • Sellers must ensure that their products or any of the products’ components/ingredients were produced without the use of forced labor, prison labor or child labor and that the products, including the raw materials, components and ingredients, are legally admissible into Canada and are not produced in whole or in part by entities or in regions that would cause them to be prohibited from entry into Canada under the Customs Act and related regulations, or other relevant government restrictions. Doing so may lead to seller consequences, including de-listing of the seller's product, suspension of the seller's account and/or termination from the Walmart Marketplace Canada.

What is the Policy?

  • All products listed for sale on Walmart.ca must comply with any applicable local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to any applicable documentation, labelling and packaging language requirements.
  • In addition, item listings with conflicting information found on product images and the product listing page is prohibited. All packaging labels must comply with all applicable requirements, including those of any government agencies that regulate the product in question. Consult your legal counsel if you have any questions about the laws and regulations concerning your products.
  • The sale of stolen property violates the property rights of rightful owners and is illegal. Walmart strictly prohibits the sale of stolen goods in the Walmart Marketplace Canada.
  • Walmart enforces strict policies against the resale of certain products from other marketplaces on its platform. Sellers are required to have ownership of the items they list for sale or have adequate licensing rights to sell those branded products. Additionally, sourcing products through post-sale transactions (Seller Performance Standards) on other platforms is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, certain smart home devices and streaming media players.
  • Walmart will remove any product listing that may be incompatible with its brand or in violation of law, this policy and any other Walmart Marketplace Seller Policies. Corrective actions may be taken as circumstances dictate, including suspension and/or termination of your account.

While Walmart strives to keep this policy current and as complete as practicable, not all prohibited products may be listed below. Walmart reserves the right to remove any product listing in the Marketplace Prohibited Products Policy or other policies without notice, so be sure to check this page often.
