• Any medical device products or tools that require medical professional's supervision, guidance, or direction for their use 

• Any medical devices that do not comply with the Food and Drugs Act, and the Medical Device Regulations. 

• Unsafe medical devices (e.g.. Ear candles)  

• Medical devices not in its original retail packaging, opened and/or used or refurbished  

• Pill/Tablet press machines  

• Medical devices named in Recalls, Advisories, & Safety Alerts  

• Hypodermic needles and syringes intended for the use of injecting a drug or other substance beneath the skin or extracting fluids -- this includes diabetes supplies for injecting insulin are prohibited.

• Products claiming they are intended to be used for the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease are prohibited unless the claim is within the scope of the product’s Health Canada license, or it does not require such a license (e.g., most Class I devices)  

• Certain accessories for medical devices and tools that sold on its own do not require a prescription or usage by a professional. (e.g.. Bottles, applicators, tubes, device cleaners) 

• Accessories for medical devices that are solely used for medical monitoring, or for a medical professional’s use in determining health-related data and diagnoses is prohibited. 

• Medical devices that require a quantity or age restriction/ verification, or require consumer purchases to be registered are prohibited 

• Claims of “FDA Approved” or “FDA Cleared” or “Health Canada Approved” must be used appropriately and do not contain any other misleading or false claims, statements, and/or usage of logos and imagery 

• Medical devices and tools that are approved and intended for general at home use (e.g. Tongue depressors, bedpans, toothbrushes) 

• Medical devices that are authorized by Health Canada for over the counter (OTC) sales that are not otherwise restricted and are described and labeled appropriately  

• Devices and tools that are solely intended for educational use  

• Test kits that are approved for at-home use or at home sample collection.

• Syringe/Hypodermic needles  

• Acupuncture needles  

• Multi-Patient Lancet needles 

• Microblading Needles  

• Microneedle Beauty Cosmetic tools are prohibited if:  

• They are described as just "needling" without using the term “microneedle” implying the needles being short in length  

• They are not only for cosmetic purposes and/or make any medical claims or claims alluding to diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of medical skin conditions  

• They are sold with or used to deposit/inject any creams, chemicals, drugs, or apply other topical accessories for use  

• Tattoo Needles 

• Syringe with no needles  

• Needles for industrial use  

• Disposable Syringe (allowed if sold without a needle)  

• Bending and Sewing Needles  

• Ruler Needles  

• Single-use Licensed Lancets  

• Needles for cooking (basting and flavor injectors)
