Overview

Target customers using self-serve Walmart Onsite Display ads. Create engaging visuals and use Walmart’s first-party data to help you run personalized campaigns. In this guide, you’ll learn about how Walmart Onsite Display ads attract shoppers at every stage of their journey.

Notes

Walmart Onsite Display is only available to Marketplace brand owners registered with the Walmart Brand Portal.

How does it work?

Once you create your Walmart Onsite Display account, you can bid on available Display inventory, build your own creative assets and launch your own campaigns, with full budget and pricing control. Campaigns use a Display Auction which operates on eCPM (effective cost per mille), meaning that you pay for every thousand impressions.

Walmart Onsite Display campaigns use dynamic bidding to adjust your bids up and down depending on how your campaign is pacing. Walmart Onsite Display campaigns also use a first-price auction model, so ads are selected based on the highest bid, and the winner pays their winning bid, but never more than their max bid.

You can bid on available Display inventory, build your own creative assets and launch your own campaigns quickly and easily, with full budget and pricing control over every impression within the self-serve Walmart Connect Ad Center.

Pro tip

Review in-flight display performance metrics and track eCPMs across ad groups and tactics. Analyze post-campaign metrics by reviewing reports on campaign performance, new buyers and bid performance.

Additional guidelines

Creative visuals are built in the Creative Platform using Creative Builder. If you need help, sign up with the Walmart Creative Essentials Ad Certification to learn how to create compelling visuals for your ads. You can manage your campaign by setting up a base and maximum bid as well as a daily or lifetime budget strategy. Next, choose from several different targeting tactics:
