Ship with Walmart: Seller protections policy

Overview

Ship with Walmart offers seller protections for delivery issues outside your control. For eligible orders reported as lost in transit or after delivery, Walmart refunds the customer ($100 or less), handles the carrier claim and keeps your performance metrics unaffected. In this guide, you’ll learn about the policy and how these protections apply.

What is the policy?

When you use a Ship with Walmart shipping label, you’re eligible for certain protections if your package is lost or late and the following requirements are met:

  • You shipped the order on or before the specified Ship By date.

  • Your account is in good standing.

  • Your account is configured for seamless returns.

  • You’re not currently disputing that return with the customer.

When these requirements are met, late deliveries or lost packages won't count against your seller performance metrics, such as On-time delivery.

If a customer submits a refund request for an order reported as lost in transit or after delivery and Walmart issues such refund, then:

  • Walmart won’t seek reimbursement from you for up to $100 per qualifying order.

  • If the refund amount exceeds $100, you may be charged the difference.

  • Walmart manages the claims process directly with the carrier, so no action is required from you.

Pro tip

When purchasing a SWW label, the carrier may offer optional declared value protection for items exceeding $100.

Additional guidelines

The following are not eligible for Ship with Walmart seller protections:

  • Packages damaged in transit.

  • Orders not shipped with a Ship with Walmart label.

  • Orders not packaged or labeled correctly.

  • Orders with non-compliant, prohibited or restricted items.

  • Shipping label charges or other fulfillment-related fees.

  • Orders with labels produced using Bring Your Own Account.

Notes:

These protections are a discretionary benefit offered by Walmart at no cost to you. They’re not insurance, are not guaranteed, and may be modified or withdrawn at Walmart’s discretion.
