Troubleshooting
After creating a listing, you may need to change offer details or update your item with new information. To edit a single item, you’ll do this within Seller Center. To update several items at once, you’ll use the Item Maintenance Spec.
Update a single item
1. Log into Seller Center and go to Items.
2. Select the item name and choose Edit Item.
3. Edit your item details and submit changes.

Update items in bulk
1. Log into Seller Center and go to Items.
2. Go to the Manage Items dropdown and select Update items.
3. Select Walmart Fulfilled under fulfillment type.
4. You’ll see three options to make updates: by template, GTIN match or category.Â
By template
Choose a template to update inventory, price, lag time and more. Once you download and open the template, you’ll find specific instructions on how to fill it out.Â
By GTIN
By matching through GTIN, we’ll populate the spec with information that’s already in our catalog. Just enter your GTINs, separated by commas, in the text box. (If you don’t know an item’s GTIN, look it up in your Inventory page.)Â
Once you select Match, our system will verify the GTINs. If there are any errors, you won’t be able to download the spec. Here are common issues:
- Submitting items that are in more than seven categories at once
- Entering invalid GTINs
- Entering more than the 5,000 GTIN limit
Once your submitted GTINs are approved, it may take time to process the spec. Select Refresh if you don’t see a new line appear in the download field. When your file is ready to download, the status column will say Processed.
By category
To download a blank category spec, select By Category. Use this option to update multiple items of the same category at the same time. Choose your item category from the dropdown menu to download.
Attributes will vary by category, so make sure you choose the correct category. If you aren’t sure which to use, see Item Categorization Guide for Item Spec 4.0. (For Fashion, the Season code is specific to reflect the four seasons in a year. If you aren’t sure which category to use, contact Seller Support.)
Upload the completed spec
Include ALL the information you want to appear in the listing. This spec will replace your existing item details. For example, say your listing has three images and you want to add four more. You must include the URLs to the existing three images, as well as the four new images, for a total of seven columns.

After you've filled in the spec, upload it on the same page where you downloaded the file. Our system will check for errors — such as missing attributes, wrong data type, invalid check digit — within a few seconds. If there are any, the error spec will automatically download in your browser.Â
Make sure your item dimensions are accurate. We measure items during receiving, and mismatched dimensions may affect your WFS fees.
