Products subject to our policy on Jewelry or Jewelry-related products must also adhere to other prohibited products policies including our policy on FinCEN covered goods or Walmart will automatically unpublish your item. 

Jewelry containing conflict minerals

What is the policy? 

All jewelry items made from, or contain, conflict minerals are prohibited from sale on Walmart Marketplace. The Securities and Exchange Commission has defined “conflict minerals" as tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold that is mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or adjoining countries under circumstances that contribute to, or support conflict and human rights violations.

Allowed

  • Any Jewelry or other item containing conflict minerals. 

  • Jewelry containing tin, tantalum, tungsten, or gold that is not mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo and adjoining countries. 

Loose gemstones

What is the policy? 

Loose gemstones, such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, are prohibited from sale on Walmart Marketplace. Sellers wishing to sell these items must be preapproved.

Allowed

  • Loose gemstones, including diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and other similar precious and semi-precious stones. 

  • Jewelry containing gemstones 

  • Acrylic or fake gemstones  

  • Rhinestones 

Clarity enhanced white diamonds

What is the policy? 

All products that contain clarity–enhanced white diamonds or diamonds that do not comply with the Kimberley Process Certification are prohibited from sale on Walmart’s Marketplace.

Prohibited

  • Any diamond product describing the diamond as:  

    • “Clarity-enhanced” 

    • Laser drilled 

    • Fracture filling  

    • Deep boiled 

  • Any diamond that does not comply with the Kimberley Process Certification

Approval process for certain jewelry and precious metals

What is the policy? 

Sellers who buy or sell more than $50,000 of jewelry, precious metals, or precious stones each year may not sell such items on Walmart Marketplace without prior approval.
