Overview

As a Marketplace seller, you’re expected to adhere to the Seller Performance Standards and Marketplace Retail Agreement. Failure to comply may result in account suspension or termination. In this guide, you’ll learn more about the policy and how to appeal the decision if eligible.

What is the policy?

If your selling privileges have been suspended or if your account has been suppressed or terminated, we’ll let you know via email. We’ll include the reason, your appeal eligibility and any additional actions required. If your selling privileges have been terminated, Walmart isn’t required to provide a reason and appeals will not be granted.

Additional guidelines

If your account was suspended for failing to maintain Seller Performance Standards, follow the steps below.

Step 1 – Review performance

Review your performance metrics via the Performance page in Seller Center to understand why you didn’t meet our Seller Performance Standards.

Step 2 – Create a business plan of action

Create a written business plan of action with a description of the performance violation and the steps you plan to take to correct the issue. If you violated the Marketplace Retailer Agreement, you should also detail steps taken to prevent further policy violations.

Depending on the reason, you may be required to provide firsthand images of your warehouse, distributor or supplier invoices (can’t be more than two months old) or intellectual property documents in the appeal case. This information is required to ensure the items listed in your catalog are on hand, available to start selling, or you're eligible to sell said items on Walmart.com. Failure to do so may result in the denial of your appeal case and further action on your selling privileges.

Step 3 – Submit

After you’ve created a concise plan of action demonstrating that you understand the cause of your suspension and how you’ll address the issues, you’ll submit your plan by creating a case for Seller Support. After you submit, Walmart Marketplace will contact you about the appeal decision. Appeals are handled and responded to in the order in which they are received.

Notes

Submitting an appeal doesn’t guarantee your account will be reinstated and it implies that you understand and agree to comply with the Seller Performance Standards and Walmart Marketplace Retailer Policies.
