Overview

Sometimes it’s more cost-effective for Marketplace sellers to let customers keep an item and process the refund than it is to pay a return shipping fee. With "Keep It Rules," you can allow customers to keep the item and get a full refund. In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up a Keep It Rule.

Add a Keep It Rule

Step 1 — Get started

Navigate to Account Settings from the top navigation in Seller Center. Choose Returns under the Shipping Profile heading to navigate to the Returns page. At the bottom of the page, you will find the options for Keep It Rules

Step 2 — Add a Keep It Rule

From here, select Add Keep It Rule.

Each Keep It Rule is defined by the product DepartmentItem price limit and Return Order limit. The Item price limit is the dollar amount up to which a customer will be able to keep an item. The Return order limit is the dollar amount of the total order up to which a customer can keep multiple items from the Department.

Make your selections, then select save to add the rule. You have the option to edit or delete rules as needed.

Notes

You also have the option to set item-level Keep It rules for SKUs that aren’t included in a specific Department or don’t meet your Item Price limits. Do this by submitting a Bulk Return Rules spec sheet. Please allow four hours for the system to process your spec.

If a customer returns a Walmart-fulfilled item in a Walmart store without initiating the return online first, Keep It Rules don’t apply. For more information on Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) returns, visit here.
