Once you’ve been approved to enroll in Walmart Restored and agree to the applicable Terms & Conditions, choose the item setup method that best suits your needs. In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up a refurbished item that meets the Walmart Restored requirements, and about the setup methods you can choose from.
Walmart Restored is an invite-only program. If you haven't been invited to enroll, the following information isn't applicable to you. If you sell refurbished products and are interested in applying to the Walmart Restored program, reach out to your account manager or email for more information.
Item setup
Step 1 – Get started
Before you begin the setup process, make sure your refurbished items meet the following requirements.
Product identifier (ID) | The UPC or GTIN for all Restored products in any of the eligible conditions must be different than the original product ID (also referred to as a new equivalent product ID). You’re responsible for providing your own product IDs.
|
New equivalent product ID | This ID is used for items purchased in new condition and is considered the original product ID. If available, we recommend adding information about the original equivalent GTIN or UPC during item setup. |
Model number | If your product has a model number, use a different model number for the refurbished item than the one that would be used for a new item.
|
SKU | Restored SKUs should be unique to the Restored item. You can’t use a Restored SKU for an item with a different condition. |
Product title | Your product title must be formatted as follows: Place “Restored” in front of the product title, and “(Refurbished)” at the end. Make sure to also use this format when updating the product title, otherwise your item will be unpublished.
|
Condition | Select the item’s condition type based on its level of wear, prior use (if any), appearance and overall quality:
|
Warranty | When setting up Restored: Premium items, you must include this text in the Warranty Information field:
|
Step 2 – Choose an item setup method
There are a few ways you can set up your items in the Walmart Restored program. However, there are a few feature limitations for setting up Restored items in the following product types: modems, magazines, auto wipers and VCRs:
- Express setup:
- You can't use Express setup for setting up new Restored items; use the full item setup
Full setup:
When completing the full item setup, the template sections are grouped by their requirement level: Required, Conditional/Required for specific conditions and Optional.
You must include all product IDs, SKUs and required attributes to successfully set up your non-new items. Condition items must include new equivalent product IDs (GTIN, UPC, EAN, ISBN) and condition attribute value for item setup. The item setup flow will reference both of these values to accurately associate your item with its new condition counterpart.
- The Restored product ID and the new equivalent product ID are required for the following conditions: Restored: Premium, Restored: Like New, Restored: Good and Restored: Fair. Add your Restored ID into both the product ID and Restored product ID fields. You can include the new equivalent product ID in the original product ID field during item setup.
