Including relevant keywords in your Marketplace listings can help you rank higher in search engine optimization (SEO) results and drive organic traffic. This optimized customer experience can help influence customer purchasing decisions, unlocking unlimited sales potential. In this guide, you’ll learn how to optimize your product listings with engaging keywords.
How does it work?
Keywords can be added to your product’s title, description and key features.
Additional guidelines
Remember, including keywords that are detailed, accurate and informative can really help your business stand out. When thinking about what keywords you want to add to your product listing, keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Use engaging, unique words that are useful to the customer.
- Provide words that are unique to Walmart.com and not used among other online retailers.
- Select one or two primary keywords to use once in your product title, description and key features.

Your keywords should be relevant to how a customer would organically search for an item based on the item name and key features. It should not include excessive or irrelevant words that could be harmful to the quality of your listing.
When including optimized keywords in your listings, try to avoid:
- Repeating the same word in a single title or description.
- Including keywords that are not relevant to your item.
- Excessively long titles of more than 200 characters.
