Set up items for WFS

Overview

Before you start selling with WFS, you need to set up your items as Walmart-fulfilled. You can either choose a fulfillment type when you add items to your catalog or convert your existing, seller-fulfilled items to Walmart-fulfilled.
We don’t charge you until you ship inventory to a fulfillment center, so you can set up as many items as you like. If your inventory runs out, customer orders will automatically switch to seller-fulfilled. If you have any questions, contact the Seller Support team.

Add Walmart-fulfilled items to your catalog

To give you greater flexibility in building your catalog, you have several options for adding WFS items.

Convert from seller-fulfilled to Walmart-fulfilled

If you have items already set up in your catalog, you can switch them over to Walmart-fulfilled.

Integrate with APIs

This is a standard method of integration with web-based applications; it requires some programming. We recommend choosing this method if you're publishing a large catalog of items on Walmart and have a technical team to support your operations. For more details, see Integration methods: API. Alternatively, several full-service solution providers are currently integrated with our APIs. They can support you with item setup and management, inventory, orders and pricing.

Fulfillment and compliance

For all Walmart-fulfilled items, we ask for additional information, such as country of origin, dimensions, and trade item configurations. This allows us to store and fulfill items on your behalf. Walmart-fulfilled items that contain specific potentially hazardous components or chemicals will also require additional screening prior to being eligible for the program. Our compliance review helps us properly store, handle, transport, and/or dispose of potentially hazardous materials.

Track status

Once you’ve submitted your items, you can track their setup status in the Activity Feed page under Product Catalog. If there are any errors, correct them in the Activity Feed. See Troubleshooting item feed errors for more information.
