Once you’ve been vetted and approved to join Walmart Marketplace, Walmart will assign certain selling and item limits to your account, such as how many items you can sell at a time. Walmart will continue to adjust these limits based on your sales volume, performance metrics and customer feedback.
What is the policy?
When you sell items on Walmart.com, you agree to follow certain limits and conditions that Walmart has set for your account, such as the maximum amount of items in your catalog and how well you’re adhering to Marketplace policies. Your initial limits are based on the information you provided when setting up your Marketplace account.
Once you’re approved to sell, you’ll receive a notification in Seller Center and an email with information about your assigned limits. We recommend enabling email notifications on your account so that you can receive emails when your limits are adjusted. For more information, visit Manage notifications in Seller Center.
Walmart will continue to evaluate your account and will contact you before you’ve reached a selling or item limit. If you reach or exceed a limit, your account will be paused while Walmart determines if modifications to your limits are necessary.
Additional guidelines
If your selling performance and sales metrics are strong, you have a good track record with customers and you adhere to the Marketplace Seller Code of Conduct, you may be eligible for a selling limit increase. You can only request a limit increase if your account is eligible and in good standing, and meets one of the following conditions:
90 days have passed since your first transaction.
30 days have passed since your last limit evaluation.
Any restrictions on your account must be resolved before you request a limit increase. If your account is currently restricted, Walmart won’t consider any requests from you until your ability to operate on Walmart.com is fully restored and approved by Walmart.
To check your limits status, navigate to the Account Hub page in Seller Center and review the Limits section. If you’re eligible to request an increase, this section will display an Eligible badge and an Appeal button.
To request a limit increase, select the Appeal button. Then, complete the online form. Once you submit your request, you’ll receive an email confirming your request. Walmart will notify you of its decision within 72 hours.
Requests are handled in the order in which they’re received. Submitting a request doesn’t guarantee that you’ll receive an increase.
