Eligible Marketplace sellers can enroll their items into the Deals program to participate in Walmart-led promotional campaigns on Walmart.com. In this guide, you’ll learn more about how the program works.

Notes:

Participation in the Deals program is by invitation-only and not available to all Marketplace sellers. 

How does it work?

There are two types of Deals you can enroll your items in: Flash Deals and Seasonal Events.  

  • Weekly Flash Deals highlight your popular, seasonally relevant items in high-trafficked product placements on Walmart.com. Limited-time Deals are displayed for only 24 hours. 

  • Seasonal Events showcase products at a promotional price based on certain themes, categories or holidays. Each Seasonal Event will be based on specific criteria. 

Once you’ve been invited to participate and have accepted the terms and conditions, you’ll gain access to the Deals page in Seller Center where you’ll find all upcoming Flash Deals and Seasonal Events indicating the respective start date, end date and submission deadline. After you’ve submitted your items for consideration, the deal will appear on the Flash Deals or Seasonal Events tab. Select the Deal to monitor the qualification status of your Deal items.

After Walmart has reviewed your items, your Deal submission status will either be  Approved, Declined or Processing. You can view specific feedback for improving the deal quality for those items by selecting the alert symbol next to the submission status. Addressing feedback from Walmart doesn’t guarantee participation in the Deal, but it does increase your chances of approval.

Pro tip

If a submitted item’s price is listed at or below the suggested price, it may qualify for a reduced Referral Fee offered by Walmart. The Item name column displays a dollar sign symbol next to the item if it qualifies. The Deal price must be consistently maintained at or below the suggested price to continue receiving a reduced Referral Fee.

Items that meet the following criteria have the best chance of being included in these Deals event types.

Weekly Flash Deals

  • Promo price must be lower than the current Walmart price. 

  • Items should feature Best of Web pricing with at least 3.5 stars and a minimum of 115 reviews. 

  • Content quality score should be at least 80%. 

  • Items should be Walmart-fulfilled with 2-3 day shipping prioritized. 

  • Items with no or minimal history of sales on Walmart.com are less likely to be selected for a Flash Deals event. 

  • The guidelines, requirements and submission limits that determine which items would qualify for Flash Deals may vary.

Limited-time Deals

  • Promo price must be at least 10% off and below the competitive price. 

  • Items must have at least 4.5 stars and a minimum of 200 reviews. 

  • Content quality score and offer Listing Quality should be greater than 90%. 

Seasonal Events

Guidelines for seasonal events vary. Be sure to review and satisfy each requirement for the event.
