What is the Policy? 

Walmart Canada prohibits the sale of certain funeral-related products on its Marketplace. 

Policy Basics 

Prohibited

Allowed

  • Caskets and coffins  

  • Grave markers, headstones, and monuments  

  • Human or animal remains  

  • Used funeral items  

  • Repurposed funeral items (i.e. Urns marketed as a cookie jar)  

  • Items obtained from government or protected land, grave sites, or historical locations  

  • Stolen or looted funeral products  

  • Sacred items used by Indigenous peoples in ceremonial practices 

  • Urns and Cremation Boxes  

  • Jewelry (funeral keepsakes)
