As a Marketplace seller, you’re required to provide accurate details about the products you sell on Walmart.ca. This guide summarizes Canada-specific product detail requirements and how they connect to Walmart Canada’s policies.
What is the policy?
Your product’s title, description, key features, images and additional attributes help determine how your items appear in search and browse results on Walmart.ca. Content on PDPs must follow the content standards as below:


Your item content must follow the Prohibited Products Policy and all other Walmart policies. You may refer to our Copy Guidelines for additional guidance.

When filling out the product title, description, or key features, align PDP copy with on-pack labelling to avoid contradictions.

Prohibited & Offensive Content
Walmart Canada will remove any product listing that may be in violation of law, its policies, or that is incompatible with its brand. In addition, corrective actions may be taken as circumstances dictate, including de-listing of the seller’s product, suspension and/or termination of a seller's account. All products listed for sale on Walmart.ca must comply with any applicable local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to any applicable documentation, labelling and packaging language requirements.
Prohibited Products by Territory (Canada)
You’re prohibited from listing products (or components/ingredients) grown, produced, manufactured, extracted, processed in, sourced from or transported through: North Korea, Iran, Syria, and the regions of Ukraine (Luhansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic, Crimean Peninsula). Sellers must ensure products and components are not produced wholly or in part by forced or prison labour. Goods classified under Customs Tariff item 9897.00.00 are prohibited from entry into Canada and may be detained, forfeited, or re-exported.

Categories that require pre-approval (Canada)
Fragrance, Luxury, Software, Cell Phones & Accessories, Grocery, Pets, Fire detection & suppression, Wireless transmitters & monitoring systems, Custom Content, and select seasonal/Halloween items require written approval before listing. Approvals are brand/item-specific and may be revoked. Read more here.
Offensive Content
Items that contain sexually explicit content promote intolerance or hate, degrade political figures/groups, or glorify violence/tragedy may be unpublished.
