Tax Classifications and Documentation

Overview

If you intend on selling on Walmart Marketplace Canada, you’re required to provide a business tax ID or business license number, and supporting documentation to confirm your company’s credentials. Keep reading below to find out your tax classification and what documentation is required for your country of incorporation.  

Required Documents

To successfully set up your account, you must also have the tax information for your business in the selected country of incorporation along with a personal ID of the applicant or legal representative, business address, legal business name and business phone number. 

Country of Incorporation

Required Documents

Canada

  • Notice of Assessment (NOA) or Articles of Incorporation (AOI or Articles of Amalgamation or Notice of Registration (Québec Only).
  • Utility bill or bank statement within last 6 months.

Chile

  • Articles of Incorporation. 
  • Chile Government issued RUT Certificate. 
  • A utility bill or bank statement for the business within the last 6 months.

China

  • A utility bill or bank statement for the business. 
  • A colored copy of your business license, stamped with your company chop (seal).
  • A Letter of Authorization, signed by your business’s Legal Representative and stamped with your company chop. 
  • A colored copy of the personal ID card of the Business Legal Representative stamped with your company chop. 

Germany

  • Certificate of Commercial Registration.
  • A utility bill or bank statement for the business within the last 6 months.

Hong Kong

  • A copy of your Business Registration Certificate, stamped with your company chop (seal). 
  • A copy of your Certification of Incorporation stamped with your company chop. 
  • A Letter of Authorization, signed by your Business’s Director and stamped with your company chop. 

India (excluding sole proprietors) 

  • Utility bill or bank statement, with address listed, dated within six months (mandatory). 
  • GST Registration Certificate (mandatory).
  • Copy of the Company PAN Card (optional). 

India (sole proprietors only) 

  • Proof of address for rental properties: Rental agreement and No Objection Certificate (NOC).
  • Proof of address for self-owned properties: Utility bill that is less than 90 days old.
  • Business IDs.
  • Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN). 

Japan

  • Certificate of Incorporation. 
  • A utility bill or bank statement for the business.

Mexico

  • Articles of Incorporation. 
  • A utility bill or bank statement for the business within the last 3 months.

Singapore

  • Certificate of Registration or Certification of Incorporation issued by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore (ACRA). 
  • A utility bill or bank statement for the business.  

South Korea

  • Business Registration Certificate issued by the National Tax Service. 
  • A utility bill or bank statement for the business. 

Taiwan

  • Business (Company) Registration Certificate.
  • A copy of personal ID card of the Business Legal.

Thailand

  • Business Registration Certificate.
  • Utility bill or bank statement for the business. 

Turkey

  • Trade Certificate of Registry (Ticaret Sicil Tasdiknamesi) or Certificate of Activity (Faaliyet Belgesi).    
  • Tax Registration Certificate (Vergi Levhasi). 
  • A utility bill or bank statement for the business. 

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 

  • Certificate of Incorporation. 
  • A utility bill or bank statement for the business.

Vietnam

  • Certificate of Enterprise Registration. 
  • Bank statement or utility bill.

Notes

 Sellers in China need to provide the details of their business’s legal representative —including a phone number—to complete the verification process.
