This article gives you detailed information about payment cycles at Walmart and the reports related to payments that Walmart shares on a regular basis. You can reconcile and track your payments using these reports.
Payment Cycles and Timelines
Payment cycles have been set as part of Walmart's agreement with every seller. These payment activities are the same at the end of every pay period regardless of the duration of the cycle.
- Payment frequency is typically bi-weekly (every 14 days).
- Payments are made to sellers no later than the 7th day of the end of each period.
- The payment period closes at 11:59 PM on alternating Fridays (Pacific time).
- You can view your outstanding balance for an open pay cycle as well as the scheduled settlement date. Balances can take up to 24-48 hours to appear in this open pay cycle view after updates to orders are received.
- Reconciliation reports are generated on the 8th day of every settlement end date. These reports are available in the Payments page to all sellers whose pay period is closed. This report contains details of all the orders that were marked as shipped or had refunds generated within the just-closed period.
- New sellers are subject to a payment hold for each order fulfilled within an initial period. Additional factors, such as high return, chargeback rates and selling counterfeit or illegal items, may lead to payment delays.
- Periods starting from July 20, 2024, will show detailed breakdowns and offer the option to download the reconciliation report as a CSV file.
- Periods before July 20, 2024, can be accessed by clicking Download and selecting Older Statements. A popup will allow you to choose a period and download the reconciliation report as a CSV file.
Payment Actions
Various payment actions can impact the timing and amount of payments you receive. Take a look below to learn more information about these actions.
Suspension
Payments on your account can be temporarily suspended. Once suspended, you won’t receive any amount until suspension is lifted. Such suspensions may vary in length and typically last until a risk review of your account is completed.
Holds
Payment holds indicate a delay on payments for a specified number of days. Hold is an ongoing action, and once initiated, it can be extended to multiple cycles. An x-day hold means your orders will be eligible for payments x-days after being shipped. Once eligible, funds will be processed in the upcoming scheduled payment cycle.
New Seller Payment Holds
New sellers experience a payment hold after they begin selling on Walmart to allow them to build sales history and credibility with customers. The timeframe of this hold varies by seller and country of incorporation and is in effect until the requirements outlined below have been met.
- North American (CAN/US/MX) Sellers
International (Non-North American) Sellers : Up to 21 days on each fulfilled order until you meet both criteria below: - 90 days have passed since your first order was shipped.
- You've received $1,000 in payments.
Payment Statements and Transactions
A detailed breakdown of the amount that Walmart receives from the customer for each Purchase Order and other important information like shipping charges, refunds, and commission rates is available on the Payments page. Read Payment Statements and Transactions for more information on how to access this information in Seller Center.
