Once your pesticide has an approved lab test through UL Solutions, you’re ready to sell on Walmart.com. In this guide, learn what fields you'll need to add a pesticide item in Seller Center and what to expect next.
Add pesticides to your catalog
Your item must pass a WFS pesticide test with UL Solutions before you add it to your Walmart catalog. We cannot approve a pesticide without test results, so your item will either be put on hold or prohibited.
Choose the item setup method that’s easiest for you, then fill in the general information about your item. For pesticides specifically, make sure you fill in these fields:
- Fulfillment type: Walmart Fulfilled
- Product is a pesticide: Yes
- Pesticide type: Choose between EPA registered, minimum risk 25(b), pesticide device or treated article
- State restrictions: Choose between Commercial, Illegal for sale or None
- Then enter the states and zip codes where your item cannot be sold.
State registrations
You must enter any applicable shipping restrictions during item setup, indicating where the item should not be sold or shipped. You are required to list all states where the item is not registered, as well as any states where you do not want the item shipped. Restrictions may also be applied by specific zip codes, which are used to reflect local jurisdictional limitations.
Compliance review
After you submit, your item will be reviewed by the compliance team for up to 3 business days. During that time, we’ll also verify that UL Solutions has approved your lab test results. You can track progress on the Pending Review page. If there are any errors, you’ll need to fix them and resubmit.
Providing inaccurate information may result in item setup delays and regulatory liability. Falsely representing your items in an effort to bypass these assessments is prohibited and could result in expulsion from the WFS program. Examples of false representation include, but are not limited to, providing incorrect responses, intentionally misspelling words, or improper use of spaces and special characters in product names and descriptions with the intent to bypass pesticide indication and program approval requirements for pesticides.
Fulfillment and returns
Once approved, your item will be published on Walmart.com. Make sure to send inventory to Walmart, so we can start fulfilling orders to customers. If you are not the regulatory owner, avoid sending more than one month of inventory. This will lower your risk if your offer becomes ineligible.
Customers can return a pesticide in stores or by mail. Once the item comes back to a WFS return center, we’ll then check the item and determine whether it’s in a sellable condition. To learn more about the returns process, go to WFS returns overview.
