Overview

Ship with Walmart Cross Border simplifies shipping from China to the U.S. by handling item classification, import fees, duty-included pricing and customs data submission. It also benefits from Walmart’s discounted international rates and seller protections. In this guide, you'll learn about eligibility and how to participate.

How does it work?

To be eligible to import your items through this program you must meet the following requirements:

  • Country of incorporation (COI) must be in China
  • At least one fulfillment center in China
  • Items must include country of origin (COO)
  • Items must meet carrier limitations and compliance regulations

After your account is set up, items that meet all criteria are automatically enrolled after processing. Once enrolled, Ship with Walmart Cross Border classifies the item and calculates the duty-included price. Eligible international shipping costs are excluded from the declared value used for import fee calculations, essentially lowering all-inclusive prices. Customers see a single-landed price (including estimated import fees) during shopping and checkout.

Configure your offers to exclude shipping costs by:

  • Offering free shipping to all U.S. destinations.
  • Providing package dimensions when requested for accurate estimates. If unavailable, Walmart uses the best available information to estimate shipping costs.
  • Keeping product information accurate.
Notes:

It may take up to 24 hours after enrollment for your items to be classified and the duty-included price to calculate.

Additional guidelines

Once an item is enrolled in Ship with Walmart Cross Border, your inventory levels and International Shipping Templates should be updated at all participating fulfillment center locations. You must use Ship with Walmart carrier labels for enrolled items. You can’t use a third-party carrier to ship orders since Walmart has already collected import fees on your behalf from the customer. Walmart automatically provides the required customs information for eligible Ship with Walmart Cross Border shipments.

You can monitor your enrolled items from the Ship with Walmart Cross Border page in Seller Center, which includes the following details:

Attribute

Description

Country of Origin

The country where the product was produced or manufactured. If more than one country is involved in the product’s production or manufacturing, the country of origin corresponds to the country where the product underwent its last substantial transformation. This attribute is critical to accurately calculating import fees on your behalf.

Current Price

The list price shown on Walmart.com. It’s automatically calculated by Walmart and includes estimated import fees.

Base Price

The price you set for your item before estimated import fees are applied.

Status

  • Enrolled: Walmart will classify your item, calculate import fees and update the customer-facing price.
  • Unenrolled: Item is unenrolled, and duties must be calculated manually.

  • Action needed: Item is missing the Country of Origin attribute. Add the Country of Origin directly from the enrollment page.

  • Ineligible: Item is not eligible due to potential trade or carrier restrictions such as flammable, liquid, metal or powder-based products, which are often classified as hazardous materials.

Notes:

Walmart continuously evaluates inventory location. Offers may become ineligible if inventory is no longer fulfilled exclusively from China.
