Before selling with Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), you must set up your items as Walmart-fulfilled. You can add new items to your catalogue or convert your existing, seller-fulfilled items to Walmart-fulfilled.
Before You Start
- Ensure you are not creating duplicate listings for WFS, and seller-fulfilled.
- Refer to the Convert Existing Items to WFS article for how-to steps if you've already done a regular item setup for seller-fulfilled and would now like to set up those items for WFS.Â
Add New WFS ItemsÂ
Follow the steps below to add new items to WFS.
Download the Walmart Template
To download the Full Item Spec from Seller Center:
- Click on the Catalog link in the left navigation pane in Seller Center.
- Click on the Add Items button on the top right screen.

3. Click on Download Walmart template.

4. Select the Walmart Fulfilled option.
5. Click on the Create a full-setup template and choose the categories for the items you want to add. You can select up to 7 categories at a time.
6. Click the download icon to the right.

Fill out the Walmart Template
- Open the Walmart Template. Â
- Choose a tab for the subcategory your items belong to, which is at the bottom of each Spec.
- Fill in your data. Once you start filling out the fields, you will notice that some fields require you to select from a drop-down menu while others are free-text fields.
In these tabs there are sections of attributes such as: - SKU of your product
- Required for Walmart Fulfillment Services, you need to provide a value for all these attributes for successful conversion of your items.
- Required for Compliance Verification, provide these values if your items fall under compliance products.
- Conditional / Required for Hazardous Material.
- Required for the item to be visible on Walmart.ca
- Recommended to improve search and browse on Walmart.ca.
- Recommended to create aa variant experience on Walmart.ca.
- Optional attributes
Please fill the tab Trade Item Configurations for all the items you want to create. In this tab there are sections of attributes such as: - SKU of your product
- Required for Walmart Fulfillment Services, you need to provide a value for all these attributes for successful conversion of your items.
- Required for Walmart's Supply Chain:
- You need to provide values for all mandatory attributes - Recyclable Packaging Material Information (Packaging Material, Packaging Weight (kg), Packaging Material Image URL) and Trade Item Net Weight (Measure, Unit) for successful conversion of your items. The other attributes are optional and are only required when relevant to the item.
- Save the Spec file.

Upload and Submit the Walmart Template
To upload the Spec:
- Click on the Catalog link in the left navigation pane in Seller Center.
- Click on the Add Items button on the top right screen.
- Attach the completed Walmart template by either dragging and dropping your file or clicking on the browse option.Â
- Click Next to submit the file.Â
 If you attach the wrong file type (png, xls, jpg, etc.), an error message will appear until you attach the right file type.

Track Your Feed Status
You can track the status of your files on the Activity Feed page. Please note that there is an SLA of 4 hours for the feeds to be processed.
To access the Activity Feed page:
- Click on the Catalog link in the left navigation pane in Seller Center.
- Click on the Activity Feed.

The Activity Feed page shows the following information.Â

| The type of feed you submitted. For example, Item Maintenance, Item Setup, promo, etc,. |

| The number of SKUs that are still pending Item Setup completion. |
| The number of errors encountered. The numbers in this field link to the error message page. |

- To see the errors for the SKUs you submitted, locate the Errors column header.Â
- In the Errors column, click the eye icon. You will be taken to a page that has a list of the SKUs in your file/feed that have errors, as well as the reason for the error. You can also click on the cloud icon under the Error report column where you can download your error report as an Excel file.Â
Resolve Any Errors
To resolve the errors in your feed:
- Examine the Activity Feed page for the locations of the errors.
- In the template, locate and resolve the errors listed in the Activity Feed page. Then, save the template in the correct file format.
- Re-upload the corrected template in Seller Center.
- Track the status of this new feed and verify that the errors are resolved.
Track the Status of Your Items
You can track the status of each item from the Catalog page once your feed has been submitted. Under the quick filters select Seller Fulfilled (WFS eligible), then filter the SKU details by that specific SKU. Once the feed is processed the item will go to the published status.
