Overview

In-Store Returns are a key benefit to selling on the Walmart Canada Marketplace and are included in the Marketplace Returns Policy.  The ability for customers to return product to the over 400 Walmart Canada stores nationwide improves customer trust of Marketplace items and ultimately drives conversion and sales.

In-Store Returns Process & Seller Options

For all products returned to a Walmart store (“Returned Product"), the Seller agrees that the returned product will be processed in accordance with the Seller’s election during the onboarding process and the terms of the Walmart Marketplace Seller Returned Product Purchase Agreement.

Returned Product shall be processed as follows:

  1. If Walmart receives any Returned Product that is hazardous, damaged or otherwise unsuitable for resale or shipment (each, an “Unsellable Product”) as determined by Walmart, the Seller agrees that Walmart may dispose of the Returned Product as Walmart deems fit.
  2. All Returned Products other than Unsellable Product will be shipped at Walmart’s expense to a third-party facility operated by 2384309 Ontario Inc. ("TRG").
  3. The Seller’s Returned Product shall belong to the Seller from the moment the Product is returned to a Walmart store. The Seller is responsible for all risk of loss to the Returned Product except when the Returned Product is in TRG’s care and control.
  4. The Seller shall elect one of the options below on a category-by-category basis.

Option #1: R – Recycle

If the Seller elects Option #1 for any category, the Seller agrees for Returned Product in that category:

  1. Upon arrival of the Returned Product at the third-party facility, the Seller transfers title of the Returned Product to TRG.
  2. TRG may dispose, resell, or distribute the Returned Product in a manner and on terms and conditions as determined by TRG.

Option #2: S – Ship Returned Product to Seller

If the Seller elects Option #2 for any category, the Seller agrees for Returned Product in that category:

  1. TRG will consolidate the Seller’s Returned Product. Once the Seller’s Returned Product accumulates to reach a full pallet (“Full Pallet”) or 30 days have elapsed, whichever is sooner, TRG will automatically ship the Full Pallet of returned product to the location designated by the Seller, at the Seller’s expense.
  2. TRG will be the shipper and exporter of record for all returned product shipped to the Seller at a designated location outside of Canada.

Notes

If your products are not returned to your return address and you do not see reimbursements processed for those missing returns within 90 days from the original return date, please log a support case.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: For all products returned to a Walmart store (“Returned Product"), the Seller agrees that in order for such Returned Product to be processed in accordance with the election of “Option #2: S – Return Product to Seller”, the Seller must provide a valid return centre address located in Canada or USA (“Valid Address”). The Seller agrees that if a Valid Address is not provided, all Returned Products will be processed in accordance with “Option #1: R – Recycle/Re-sell” as described in terms of the Walmart Marketplace Seller Returned Product Purchase Agreement.

In the event that an in-store return, please utilize the Seller Return Disputes process

  • Dispute claims must be submitted within 120 days of the return date.
