Guidelines for Refurbished/Vintage Items

1. Provide an accurate Title and Short Description for the refurbished/vintage item.
2. Supply a different UPC and/or GTIN for the refurbished/vintage Item.

   What: Assign a UPC and/or GTIN to the item that is different than the UPC and/or GTIN of the brand new item.
   Why: If you use the same UPC and/or GTIN as the new item, Walmart.ca may match the refurbished/vintage item with a new item in the Walmart catalog, which would lead to customer confusion and dissatisfaction.
    

3. Adjust the Model Number for the refurbished/vintage Item.

   What: If you upload an item with a model number, make sure that a different model number is used for the refurbished/vintage item than the one that would be used for a new item. A common way of adjusting this model number might be to append RB to the model number (e.g. APL_10997 might become APL-10997RB).

   Why: If you use the same model number for the refurbished/vintage item as for a new item, Walmart.ca may match the refurbished/vintage item with a new item in the Walmart catalog, which would lead to customer confusion and dissatisfaction.
    

4. Assign a different SKU number to the refurbished/vintage Item.

What: Assign a SKU number to the item that is different from the SKU for a new item.

Why: If you use the same SKU number for new and refurbished/vintage items, it may be difficult to fulfill the item since you won't be able to differentiate between the new and refurbished/vintage version of the item. This issue is applicable to any item in your catalog, not just new and refurbished/vintage versions of the same item.

• Each product must be tested to make sure it is in working condition.
• Defective modules identified during the testing process are to be replaced with functional parts.
• Products will receive brand new batteries and new outer enclosures, ensuring there will be no or minimal cosmetic damage.
• Current software will be installed on the device and each product ships with its original operating system software and the custom software offered with it.

Unacceptable Refurbished/Vintage Product

• Product does not work perfectly in every regard.
• Product is not clean, including signs of mold, heavy staining, or corrosion.
• Product is damaged in a way that renders it difficult to use.
• Product is missing essential accompanying material or parts. (This does not necessarily include instructions.)
• Product requires repair or service.
• Product is prohibited for sale from 3rd party Seller (e.g. Apple brand).
